Engage with Nashville
Integral to the process of becoming an engaged citizen, is an understanding of the value of serving our community. The Vanderbilt community has a particularly strong tradition in service and community engagement. At Vanderbilt, a wide range of service opportunities exist, with over 70 student-run organizations on campus. These organizations and our first-year students work to meet the needs of local, national, and global communities.
Each House has a House Service Commissioner who will work to help you connect to opportunities that interest you. These students report to the CommonDores Leadership Council and the Office of Active Citizenship and Service (OACS). Through the House Service Commissioner, the OACS website, and sites like Hands On Nashville, students can find ways to give back to our local community.
